In a match that was pretty even for the first half hour, Sodbury took the lead on thirty minutes before almost killing the game off with two more goals in quick succession by the hour mark. Ashley Bernard pulled a goal back but Sodbury added a fourth and wrapped up the game with a stoppage time winner after the O's had missed a penalty.
Oldland keeper Sam Jones made a smart save with his legs early on before O's settled and played some good football. Gary Shorney volleyed wide and Ali Bamford forced a full length parry from the home keeper. But on the half hour, the deadlock was broken at the other end when Jones saved from a free kick and a Sodbury attacker tucked the rebound home at the near post.
Shorney went even closer with a shot that shaved the post but aside from a Jack Parker shot that was blocked, it was O's last chance for quite a while. In the second half, Sodbury added a second with a header from a long free kick then made it 3-0 on 59 minutes on the counter attack with a lashed effort across the goal.
O's came back with the perfect reply, Ashley Bernard pulling a goal back immediately with a low drive that clipped a defender's foot and looped over the keeper's dive. But after Jordan Richards had gone close with a back header, Sodbury regained a four goal advantage after a deflected shot found an unmarked striker who fired home.
Tom Smallman rifled a free kick over the crossbar and Richards went even closer with another back header that hit the bar but no O's attacker was near enough to take advantage. O's day was summed up when after Lewis Powell was brought down in the box, Smallman's placed spot kick hit the foot of the post. Sodbury then went up the other end and after seeing their own penalty shout turned down, finished off the match by netting number five for a convincing win.
