Simon Lashley gave the O's an early lead before a man from each side saw red after a melee in the centre of the pitch. Oldland's Tom Smallman and Rovers' captain Chris Peck were dismissed by ref Daniel Lamport on sixteen minutes.
O's added a second through Jordan Richards who glanced home a free kick from Ashley Bernard on 37 minutes.
Welton came out after the break having had a half time rocket and were the better side for long periods of the second period. Ryan Perry tipped one shot just over the bar and several Welton efforts went high, wide or both as they looked for a lifeline in the match. The chances weren't all at one end with Ryan Dunn and Jack Parker going close late on.
Just as it looked as if O's would keep their first clean sheet of the season, Welton pulled a goal back a minute into stoppage time through Ritchie Chandler but it was nothing more than a consolation. O's recorded their sixth win in eight games beating a team who came to Castle Road on the back of eight successive wins and four consecutive clean sheets.
Up the O's.
