The O's roared into a two goal half time lead with Jordan Greenwood and Ali Bamford netting. It was arguably the best 45 minutes of football seen this season as the home side took on the third placed local side.
Gary Shorney headed over from a Scott Robson corner as the game opened up in the second half with Almondsbury coming back more into the game. But as they looked the more likely to score, a breakaway goal from sub Mike Alvis on 86 minutes coolly slotting past the keeper settled the match.
Almondsbury pulled a goal back with two minutes remaining but the O's were well worth their victory and go into Saturday's FA Vase clash with Bradford Town in good heart.
