A quickfire double from in form striker Paul Coles set Oldland on the way to a 4-1 win over basement side Westbury United this afternoon.

Coles double in the first ten minutes was later followed by further goals from Ali Bamford and Josh Dempsey and although Joe Cavalla pulled a goal back late on, the O's weren't to be denied and recorded their third successive win and fourth game unbeaten.

The result meant that the visitors were condemned to finish bottom of the table with Portishead winning at Welton Rovers. That result sets up a mouthwatering encounter with champions elect Barnstaple Town who will clinch the title if they beat the O's on their home patch.

The O's got off to a flying start with Paul Coles netting in the second minute and almost grabbed a second on five minutes but he saw his shot parried by keeper Leo Whitehead. It wasn't long though before number two arrived as some nifty footwork from Ryan Ashwood cutting in from the left set up Paul Coles to tap in from a yard out. It was the forward's fifth goal in his last five games.

Jamie Powell was called into action for his only real save on sixteen minutes when he smothered a direct free kick from skipper Gary Tugwell and he then watched as another effort from Drew Adams flew well wide. Both Ashwood and Sam Abrahams dragged their efforts wide as the O's looked to kill the game off before half time and Whitehead then took a knock in saving at the feet of Dempsey at the far post.

Ashwood then hit a free kick straight at the keeper and Jordan Greenwood headed way over from a Scott Robson free kick; Coles then forced Whitehead to parry another effort in first half stoppage time.

After Robson and Dempsey had been off target from outside the box, the pick of the goals came just after the hour mark. Coles controlled the ball before setting it off to Ali Bamford; his fleet footedness saw him beat a defender before lashing the ball home for his third of the season.

O's boss Dale Dempsey made a double sub on 66 minutes and a third change on 70 minutes to bring on some fresh young legs; among the subs was Dylan Evans, the 17-year-old coming on for his Western League debut. He saw a shot blocked before Oldland grabbed a fourth on 81 minutes when Josh Dempsey struck from inside the box, smacking home into the corner of the net.

There was still time for some late drama. Sub Joe Cavalla was picked out in the box by a clever through ball and he slotted past Powell for a consolation. His team mate Jordan Matthews was not so fortunate though and after disputing a decision rather too loudly, was shown a second yellow and subsequent red by referee Shaun Tobin.

O's move up one place to 14th in the table with three games left, two at home and the visit to Cheddar on Tuesday evening.
