Goals from Jordan Richards, Paul Coles and Lewis Powell gave the O's a comfortable 3-0 victory over Devizes at Nursteed Road this afternoon.

The early goal from Richards at a corner gave the O's early confidence and after dominating the first half without adding a goal, they made it 2-0 early in the second half through Coles. Powell's stunner came halfway through the second period and was the icing on the cake for the O's first away win since 16th September.

Going into the game on a four match unbeaten run, Dale Dempsey's side got off to a great start in the eighth minute. Scott Robson had already caused problems with his first corner and when his second flag kick was swung in, Jordan Richards met it perfectly to head into an unguarded goal.

The goal gave Oldland an early platform to build on and they could have been two, three or even four goals ahead by half time, such was their domination of the chances. First up, Devizes keeper Matt Tilley cleared the ball against his own defender, winding him, and the ball careered back towards his own goal, rolling just wide. Paul Coles had a header cleared off the line, Richards curled a shot towards the top corner which Tilley held on to and both Lewis Powell and Connor Davies tested Tilley.

Ryan Ashwood had a goal disallowed for a marginal offside flag, Powell lobbed the keeper but saw his effort go wide and Scott Robson went mighty close with two free kicks from long range as the O's ended the half strongly. Devizes though made Jamie Powell dive full length to save a deflected effort from Matt Russell.

They started the second half in the same fashion and again grabbed an early goal through some clever forward play. Josh Williams shot towards goal and his effort was controlled well by Paul Coles who turned and hit an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net. Powell and Williams again tried their luck in beating Tilley but the keeper saved from both youngsters.

Devizes' were attacking now and again but were finding it difficult to get past an impressive back four featuring Mark Coles who was playing his first game of the season and equipping himself well as he settled down.

Any hopes they had of getting back into the game were extinguished halfway through the second half... and how!! Lewis Powell collected the ball forty yards from goal, progressed forward unchallenged and hit an absolute peach of a shot into the top right hand corner of the goal. It was a superb hit from the striker for his third goal of the season.

The home side had two sights of goal but both efforts, from Matt Minnis and sub Ben Jenks, were off target and didn't trouble Jamie Powell. At the other end, Lewis Powell forced Tilley into a fine save and Davies hit a cross shot that would have crept in had Tilley not tipped it away for a corner.

The O's were fine value for their win and move up three places in the table as a result and lie in the bottom half only on goal difference now.
