The O's picked up a impressive point against a side that had won its last nine matches and were thirteen games unbeaten.

In a game that went ahead after two morning pitch inspections, Oldland took the lead on five minutes when great work from Ryan Ashwood set up Paul Coles and the striker finished superbly from twenty yards out. Michael Jones then went close for high-flying Welton before the host levelled on the quarter hour mark, Ryan Allen finishing after a cross from Dan Cottle.

Man-of-the-match Scott Robson went close from a free kick and Connor Davies, playing against his old side, also had a chance as the first half ended without further additional goals.

As the pitch cut up in the second half, quality football was hard to come by andO's had to defend stoutly. Their cause wasn't helped when Jordan Greenwood received a second yellow card for a foul, following a first half caution for handball.Anthony Conradi and Chris Peck had opportunities to give their side the lead while Ashwood's "goal" for Oldland was ruled out for offside.

With ten minutes remaining, Jones was sent off for Welton making it ten-a-side but despite pressure from the home side, Oldland held out for a valuable point. The last action saw Conradi also see his effort disallowed for offside.

All in all, a very good point for Oldland who are now three games unbeaten and have taken four points from their two games against third placed Welton Rovers this season.
