Oldland slipped to only their second home league defeat of the season after a first half shocker against Cribbs.

Simon Bone, Tim O'Loughlin and Matt Shaughnessy had given third placed Cribbs a seemingly unassailable first half lead but after Simon Lashley had pulled a goal back early on after the break, the visitors had to rely on their keeper Matt Turner who made two superb saves to deny the O's a share of the points.

It's safe to say that Oldland manager Dale Dempsey didn't have the best of starts to the game. After seeing David Gilroy go close early on with an effort that Josh Dempsey cleared off the line, he was forced into an early sub when Jack Parker was replaced by Josh Williams. Then, on nine minutes, Cribbs took the lead. Dom Graffagnino let fly from thirty yards and his shot was too hot for O's keeper Ryan Perry to hold and Simon Bone snaffled up the rebound.

O's fought back well and threatened an equaliser through a series of corners from shots that were blocked or deflected with Tom Hutton, playing at centre back, twice unlucky. Gary Shorney shot wide from a clearance but against the run of play, Cribbs made it 2-0 halfway through the first half when Tim O'Loughlin fired home from ten yards.

Oldland refused to be cowed though and Lewis Powell seized on a poor defensive header but rifled wide of the goal. Gilroy and Jack Kinnerly also shot wide from outside the box but as the half closed, Matt Shaughnessy was more accurate and shot into the net from twenty yards out.

In the second half, Ali Bamford had to be alert to clear an early Cribbs attempt off the line and Kinnerly again wasted a chance, shooting wide. O's took advantage of some dithering in the Cribbs defence with Josh Williams shooting at Turner, the keeper parrying wide for Simon Lashley to net the rebound.

Oldland pressed and looked likely to get something; Dempsey unlucky with a header that was cleared off the line and then heading over after another goalbound chance was blocked. O's forced nine corners to Cribbs' three, testament to where the play was taking place but they couldn't find a second that would have made for an exciting finale.
