McElroy, the league's second top scorer, took his tally to 29 for the season with goals after 8, 28 and 69 mins. His first goal came after O's keeper Ryan Perry had saved a shot from another Almonds attacker but McElroy was on hand to finish from a tight angle.
O's then had chances to level through a Joe Galsworthy shot and a Lucas Hart drive but they eventually equalised on 24 minutes with a quality finish from Galsworthy's left foot past the keeper. Within minutes though, Almonds regained the lead when McElroy's left foot shot found the back of the net to put his side 2-1 ahead.
Oldland felt they should have had a penalty during a much improved second half showing and Tom Hutton & Tom Shopland fired efforts wide. But that man McElroy completed his treble with little more than twenty minutes to go with another cool finish past Perry.
If there was any doubt it wasn't to be Oldland's night, two goals disallowed for offside in the last eight minutes confirmed it and with Galsworthy tackled as he pulled the trigger after breaking clear and Ryan Nicholls volleying wide, there was to be no fairytale ending for the O's who now take a break from league action this weekend.
