Oldland got off to the worst possible start conceding a goal in the third minute when James Billing volleyed home. The first half continued with few chances at either end but Shepton doubled their lead seven minutes before the break when Harry Sherwood headed home a corner.
The second half continued in the same vein and after Tom Morgan had shot at home keeper Adam Garlick, Shepton went three up on 57 minutes, in slightly fortunate circumstances. A shot hit the post before rebounding out and despite some desperate defending from Jordan Davies, Billing pounced for this second of the game.
Six minutes later and it looked to be game over when a long throw was headed towards goal and Joe Morgan poked home from virtually on the goal line.
O's now face a rearranged home fixture against Welton Rovers on Wednesday night before travelling to Wincanton on Saturday.
