Oldland suffered their second defeat in four days as they were beaten 2-1 at Corsham Town.

Going into half time two goals behind against the run of play, Miles Allen's 82nd minute strike was a mere consolation as the O's lost to the second Wiltshire side this week, following their loss to Bradford Town in midweek.

The O's were the much better side in the first half, creating several good chances but as has been the case, failing to hit the target. Mark Leigh fizzed a volley just wide on four minutes and new signing Tom Morgan, playing up front, also missed a couple of early opportunities.

Miles Allen saw his shot tipped over on twelve minutes then headed a Danny Carter corner at the keeper while Liam Planter's mishit shot landed on the roof of the net.

Against the run of play, Corsham took the lead on 34 minutes with a breakaway goal. The O's were on the attack but once possession had been conceded, a long ball from defence found Jamal Chevolleau in space and although O's keeper Ryan Perry parried his first effort, the striker was left with an empty net to finish off.

Chevolleau then glanced a header wide but the home side went two up before the interval. A cross from the right wing was only partially headed away and Dan Lardner volleyed home to make it 2-0.

The second half began with the O's trying to work their way back into the game but all too often, their shots lacked direction, power or both. Allen, Tom Hutton, Planter, Hendy and Carter all had chances to grab their side a lifeline and when Morgan sliced a shot wide after great work from Carter, it seemed O's would never score.

However with eight minutes remaining, some fantastic work from Ali Bamford created an opening for Allen and he calmly slotted the ball into the corner of the net to give his side a little hope. However the O's, although pushing hard, never really fashioned that one clear cut chance needed for an equaliser. Corsham could even have made it three late on when Chevolleau shanked his shot wide when one-on-one with Perry.

Team: Perry, Sarre, Hutton, Hendy, Davies, Carter, Allen, Planter, Bamford, Morgan, Leigh

Subs: Dias, Douglas
