Both sides had enough chances to win the game comfortably with Keynsham impressing in the first half and Oldland much improved after the break.
Former O's midfielder Luke Lipinski shot into the side netting early on and his opposite number, Mike Hardiman was only a couple of feet wide with a low effort. On twenty minutes, the home side looked to have been denied a penalty when a free kick was headed on to a Keynsham defender's hand but the official waved away the appeals for a spot kick.
The remainder of the half was bossed by Keynsham but Ryan Perry was only tested really with shots from distance. Keynsham had a chance cleared off the line on 25 minutes and just before half time, Ryan Day produced a superb last ditch clearance over his own crossbar to deny the waiting Keynsham attacker an almost certain goal.
Mark Leigh had Oldland's first two chances of the second half. The first followed a solo run down the left flank that finished with Leigh firing wide. His second effort hit the side netting but halfway through the second period, Leigh turned provider, swinging over a deep cross to the back post where Ben Harris volleyed confidently home to put the O's one up.
After Keynsham keeper Matt Dunk had parried a Danny Carter effort, the K's equalised on 75 minutes through Patrick Davison who netted after a defensive lapse by Oldland.
Jordan Daies nearly grabbed a winner when his cross shot had to be tipped over by Dunk and Wayne Pearce missed a golden chance with nine minutes left but scuffed his shot wide of the near post. Lipinski almost scored the winner against his old club but his chance was cleared off the line late on.
