It was an encouraging first game in charge for new O’s boss Nigel Lee although the visitors started the brighter in the oppressive heat. They forced two early corners and had two chances to open the scoring while Oldland's only chance came from their first corner with a header over the bar.
Ryan Perry saved well from a Heath attacker before the home side took the lead on 28 minutes. Mark Leigh broke down the left and crossed for Craig Wilson to finish from close range at the second attempt.
Heath were forcing more corners than their hosts but found Perry in good form. However the visitors equalised two minutes into the second half when Craig Thatcher was well placed to volley home past Perry.
Five minuites later, the best passing move of the match from Oldland down their right flank freed Leigh again and he cut inside before shooting against the base of the post, the ball rebounding across the face of goal.
Manager Lee made several second half subsitutions to give his whole squad a run-out and one sub, Fernando Egui Dias, went very close to grabbing a winner when his chip from twenty yards out dropped just over the crossbar.
All square then in the first game under the new regime, a creditable start in conditions not really suitable for good football.
