Believe In Your Football Dreams And You're Halfway To Achieving Your Football Goals
- Great Minds Think Fit

Time stands still for no one and at Oldland Abbotonians we are preparing for the next stage in our journey. Now is probably a good time to take a step back and see just where we are.

As someone once said "Change Is Good"

As a football club we have of course had some recent changes, with Jon Toy replacing Scott and Ian moving on this week but that's not the end of it. It is hoped that Jon will be announcing his new assistant very shortly and we also hope to have news of two or three new signings in the next few days, including one experienced campaigner who will hopefully bring a wealth of stability and strength to the side.

The Reserves have had a tough time with Wes inheriting the remains of a squad and having to rebuild but the signs are promising. Another of the Colts is taking the plunge today and stepping up, we wish him the very best of luck plus hope that he maintains his place in the squad and is joined by others soon as they look to progress in their careers at a higher level.

Our Colts have been a revelation since coming in and all credit to Sam and Tom, they've certainly boosted the bar takings too! Everyone at the club is backing the Colts with the aim being promotion in their first year (is a cup asking too much?) and preparation for next season's further influx as our Under 16s come of age and hopefully the Colts take the step up into First and Reserve team action.

The Under 18s have had this season their best result ever, beating Weston Super Mare U18s in a tense cup game. Again, we had to rebuild after a summer disappearing act into lower leagues but all credit to Tony Pudlozny in getting a good young side out there under the lights and even better how many of them are playing for us on Saturdays.

Behind the scenes well, to be honest, physically none of us are getting any younger and it is a chore to be honest when only the same four or five people are trying to do everything. Anyone with an interest in helping in the background or joining the committee is more than welcome, please contact the club.

On the electronic side though things are looking up - the facebook and twitter deeds continue to receive plenty of attention and we are absolutely delighted to announce that the club website www.oldlandfootball.com currently sits at number 55 of the 900 or so websites (in the whole country!) by reference to the number of engagements. Thanking you for engaging and remember - it's only as good as what you put in so please all articles, match reports, photos send to media@oldlandfootball.com whenever you like.

As you will see, we've tweaked the design of the website slightly. We hope you like it - all feedback is welcome, constructive of course.

Thanks to the managers, players and supporters and let's go on this journey into new beginnings with our heads held high!

Up The O's !
