Wes will replace the out-going Andy Weeks and Dean Winstone at the helm of the O’s reserve side. Wes is no stranger to a management position having been assistant manager at newly promoted Southern League Melksham Town Under 18’s during their Toolstation Western League days. Wes also managed their ‘A’ side in the Trowbridge and District league achieving promtion at the first attempt. Wes stood down from his role at Melksham due to relocating to Kingswood in Bristol. Since relocating Wes has been playing at Soundwell Victoria in the Bristol and District as well as playing in our reserve side.
We caught up with Wes on his appointment, “ I am delighted to get back into management and help players at the club progress through from the youth section to the first team. I am hoping we can form a togetherness as a club and push forward again.”
First Team Manager Scott Armstrong also commented on the appointment. “ Firstly it’s great to have someone like Wes step forward an apply to do a vital role at the club. His CV stuck out from the rest due to his achievements in previous roles and I look forward to working with him.”
