Manager Clayton Woodman has confirmed that he has appointed former player Tom Hutton as manager of Oldland Abbotonians Reserves side next season.
Tom has been heavily involved with coaching, holding a UEFA B badge, and developing youngsters in our junior teams whilst seeing out the end of his playing career in local football in recent seasons. He will be assisted by another former O's favourite Steve Bristow whose knowledge of the local game and players as well as experience playing at a high standard will prove invaluable as the Reserves hope to bounce back from relegation.
Woodman said "Having considered various options and applicants, Tom is to me the right man for the job. The Reserves have struggled for two or three years now often just about managing to get a side out and with a combination of my incoming players, those that Tom will recruit and Colts stepping up the squad that battled on bravely last year will be much strengthened and should have a better year."
The club committee would like to thank Chairman Derek Jones and Committee Member Dale Dempsey for their hard work in taking on the Reserves role temporarily and helping the side fulfil its matches. They can now have a well earned rest!
