Experienced defender agrees switch from Premier Division side Odd Down Fc.

We are pleased to announce that Jamie Symonds has agreed to join the club ahead of the 2018/19 season. Jamie finished last season with mid table Odd Down in the Toolstation Western League Premier Division.

The defenders previous clubs include Southern league neighbours Larkhall Athletic and Longwell Green sports fc.

Oldland Abbotonians boss Scott Armstrong added, “ I am pleased to get Symo in as it adds competition for places in our back line. Symo is a player I have tracked for a number of years, however we missed out on him last year. I’d like to thank both Rens at Odd Down and Griff for keeping me updated with Symo. Jamie made his O’s debut at the weekend and proved he can fit into our style this season.

On other player news Armstrong added, “ We are still talking to one or two players and hoping we can announce them shortly. I am still waiting on decisions from one or two personnel from last season. Currently Josh Williams is giving it ago with Larkhall and is in constant contact with the club. Crids and Chappers are unsure on a couple of things away from Football but hopefully we can get them sorted shortly. Jack Dempsey has moved onto last seasons Southern League South West Division strugglers Slimbridge. Lukey is also another that looks certain to head for the exit door at present having not committed to the club yet. Nani (Ben Dowdell) should be in with us again this week”
