Oldland Reserves were yet again desperately unlucky in their mini revival period drawing 1-1 today against Real Thronbury
Oldland started well, with Josh Dempsey and Scott Gregory in an experienced back four and several third team players stepping up as they never had a game. The midfield was well marshalled by man of the match Brett Richards alongside Jacob Wherry-Alumi but victory was not to be. The O's had pressed and took a deserved lead on 13 minutes a cross ball finding young Cain Henderson with a great outside of his foot finish into the top corner past the keeper. Oldland were well worth their half time lead and should have had more.
Unfortunately the start of the second half did not go to plan. A corner was allowed to bobble around without being cleared and a Thornbury forward rolled into a slight gap by the post past keeper Sam Jones. It was a cruel goal but still Oldland pressed although Thornbury also had their moments, Jones coming out to clear on several occasions.
Unlucky boys on we go again
