Oldland and Bishop Sutton renewed old acquaintences in more ways than one at Castle Road and in a match which could have gone either way the points were shared.

The result leaves the two sides in joint third place taking advantage of Chippenham Park's defeat, the two clubs now sit behind Westbury United and Bristol Telephones in the table.

Oldland started with new loan keeper Marcus Price between the sticks and a central defensive pairing of brothers Scott Gregory and Jamie Gregory. Joe Walters, Matt Ellery, Josh Williams and Jack Metcalf made up the midfield group with Courtney Charles and Olly Trevarthen continuing as the front pairing. The game contained numerous half chances for either side with no one really threatening to score, Sutton missed one golden chance in the second half when their forward fired way over the bar from close range whilst Oldland created opportunities around the box but rarely did enough to trouble the voiciferous Sutton keeper. In amongst this, the officials seemed intent on letting the game flow which sometimes helped and sometimes hindered the players reactions.

All told, Oldland perhaps (perhaps) happy with just the point as either side could have pinched it with a single error or decision in their favour at any stage as the game wore on. Josh Southway and Luke Lecrass kept trying to probe and create but it was just not to be.

Another break next week as the O's face FA Vase action at Odd Down before returning to league action at home to Warminster on Saturday September 30
