Oldland grabbed a dramatic late winner to secure an opening day victory at Stockwood Lane in a match watched by a large contingent of Blues fans who had made the short journey.
Oldland started without the missing Lucas Hart and Nadi Solomon but gave league debuts to a score of new starters. The first half was close on the footballing front but marred by some fussy referring for both sides and a number of Oldland yellow cards that confused all watching.
In the second half both sides went close but with two minutes left and amid more unclear decisions from the officials Os sub young Owen McCallum expertly slotted home a right wing cross. In the ensuing confusion a home squad member was shown a red card and everyone wondered what else lay in store before the final whistle ran out.
A good early performance and most important three points in the bag.
Oldland’s next game is Wells at home next Friday night, 7.45pm
