The new Oldland squad beat County League Wick in a fairly quiet encounter at Castle Road.
Oldland played the first half with an extremely young side but also included Scott Fear, Scott Gregory and Lewis Parker from last season. In the seond half a more experienced side which included Jamie Symonds, Scott Robson, Owen McCallum, Cash Vinall, Lucas Hart and others including young Will Cains was fielded.
The result didn't matter it was a good test against a tidy Wick side whom most of the players knew well and contained a couple of former Os. In fact, Wick scored the goal of the night a belter into the top corner in the second half before Vinall's flick and a second sealed the home victory Oldland even having the luxury iof missing a second half penalty.
There was well over 100 in attendance and a busy clubhouse afterwards. It was great to see so many people there and hopeful
Thank you to Wick who were good opponents and all stayed in the bar for a while before most of both squads ended up A La Dolphin for a bit of Friday night karaoke. As a final note, on Saturday morning Brayer and Dempo found out how to turn on the club juke box so hopefully future music nights can be held at the club and the money go in our till!
