A much changed side with key players rested ahead of the return to the league campaign saw the O's exit in the second round.

Manager Scott Armstrong was forced into a couple of changes through injuries with Jack Metcalf, josh Southway and Josh Williams all missing out through injuries. Chris Manns, Courtney Charles, Scott Gregory all rested and took their place on the bench in a bid to avoid any more injuries. 16 year old Goalkeeper Luke Wilson came into the squad for his first senior start for the club having been at the O's since he was 10 years old.

Oldland started brightly for the first 20 minutes of the game and could of been ahead. Connor Davies with his first start of the season should of scored his one vs one chance with the goalkeeper but saw his effort bobble wide. oldland then created another chance after a pass from Olly Trevarthen put Connor Davies racing clear this time his effort was saved by the visiting goalkeeeper. Almondsbury took the lead shortly after this miss when poor defending and failure to clear their lines saw Almondsbury winger pull the ball back for the forward to smash the ball passed O's keeper Luke Wilson. This rattled the much changed Oldland side and seem to unsettle the lads, things could of been a lot worse had Luke Wilson not been in fine form producing 3 fantastic saves and showing great maturity for a young Gk. Oldland then had another chance to equaliser when a great pass/cross from Luke Lecrass evaded everyone and the on rushing Jamie Gregory saw his effort hit the post and go wide. Oldland will also feel hard down by when forward Olly Trevarthen was racing clear of the Almondsbury defence when he was clipped and pulled back not once but twice for the ref not to award anything much to the amazement of all involved. Almondsbury again capitalise on more poor defending saw a long ball not dealt with and saw their player race through to slot the ball home to make it 2-0 for the visitors. Despite Oldland playing poorly they still created another chances with Olly Trevarthen producing good play outwide and his cross was deflected onto the cross bar but the ball dropped to an Almondsbury defender to clear.

H-T 0-2

Second half Oldland seemed to start brightly again but it all seemed a bit more of a huff and a puff rather than any real intent. Things became worse for Oldland when a free kick from Almondsbury on the edge of the box was well taken beating Luke Wilson and nestled into the corner. The management team made changes and introduced under 18s captain Brad Lewis for his first team debut showing the club are willing to promote within and offer chances. Things went from bad to worse when late on an long ball turn from back to front found church unmarked who slotted past the advancing Wilson into the bottom corner.

F-T 0-4.

Man of the match was awarded to 16 year old goalkeeper Luke Wilson for a great goalkeeping display in his first competitive game for the club.

We caught up with Manager Scott Armstrong about the result and display. "Firstly I like to apologise to the supporters for the performance we just produced. It simply wasn't good enough and I shall ensure it doesnt happen again. I expressed my disappointment/anger to the lads about their performance as a team and individuals. Despite making lots of changes, missing lads through injuries and resting players I expected a lot more of the senior lads. I know we have clearly stated the cup wasnt high on our agenda which showed in our team selection today but that's no excuse for how bad we played today. As a result of some of the senior lads performances today some will not travel to Portishead next week. We shall also have a couple of new faces available and maybe one or two out of the treatment room. Make no mistake we shall be after a very good performance next week and put things right."
