Oldland made three changes to the starting eleven that lost to Ashton & Backwell at the weekend. Two of them were in defence where the injured Jordan Greenwood was missing along with Sam Hippisley; they were repaced by the return of Tom Welling and with Ryan Dunn dropping into the back line. Lewis Parker was unavailable so Tyrone Fudgell came off the bench and Luke Soule started up front alongside Josh Dempsey.
The O's made the long midweek trip to Somerset with just two substitutes on the bench but one of them was on the pitch inside five minutes as Gary Shorney pulled up, Scott Robson coming on. The Robins took the lead on twenty minutes through Taoufik Bensalem and shortly after half time, doubled their lead when Stephen Friend scored.
Goal number three came just after the hour mark when Max Westlake netted and it looked like Chard might end up five or six goals ahead. But there was to be no further goals and the pattern of 3-0 results in this fixture in recent seasons continued once more. Ashley Bernard (pictured) was named man of the match for the visitors.
Oldland host another Somerset side this weekend in Wellington, kick off at Castle Road is at 3.00pm.
