First half goals from Matt Curnock (penalty), Gary Shorney and David Stone had given the O's a half time advantage after Corsham had taken the lead. Ryan Dunn then added a fourth after the break and despite increased pressure from the home side, Oldland held on comfortably for a win that takes them up to fifth spot.
Following Saturday's 1-0 home win over Bishop Sutton, manager Dale Dempsey made two changes to his starting eleven. Josh Dempsey came back in for Craig Beavis in goal and the centre midfield spot held by Lewis Parker was given to Tyrone Fudgell.
Corsham took the lead on sixteen minutes when Nick Chandler scored after several successive corners. Despite that pressure, Oldland had come closest to scoring when David Stone headed wide from Ryan Dunn's cross.
The reply was quick and from the spot. Stone was brought down as he was through on goal, the challenge earning the defender a yellow card. Matt Curnock was trusted with the spot kick duties and he thumped home the penalty with aplomb.
As the half time kettle started whistling, Oldland went for the kill and struck twice in the final five minutes of the half. Gary Shorney's shot from distance came back off the bar and Dunn squared the rebound to Shorney who scored at the second attempt. Then two minutes before the break, Stone broke through the back line and gave the keeper no chance to make it 3-1 Oldland.
If Corsham's half time team talk was to keep it tight early in the second half, it didn't work as Oldland went 4-1 up on 53 minutes. Man-of-the-match Luke Soule held the ball up well before laying it off to Dunn who scored his first goal of the season.
As the game went on, Corsham tried to get back into the game; last season, the Wiltshiremen were 2-0 down with twelve minutes left and won 3-2. But a three goal deficit was beyond them and Oldland saw out the match without further panic and broke the win/loss sequence that had lasted for nine games.
This Saturday, the O's travel to Horndean FC in the Second Qualifying Round of the FA Vase and will use this impressive victory and display as a confidence boost ahead of the tie.
