Doubles from Tom Morgan and Owen McCallum, along with a fifth from Cash Vinall, saw Oldland to victory at Chippenham Park last night.

Oldland twice fought back from a goal down in the first half but went through the gears after the break and completed a resounding victory, their first win in ten league games at Hardenhuish. The result moved Oldland up two places to 16th in the Division One table ahead of a fortnight without a league fixture now.

Oldland made three changes from the side that lost to a last gasp winner at Welton Rovers last week. New signing between the sticks, George Dempsey, came in for his debut along with two 17-year-olds from the youth team, Cash Vinall and Owen McCallum. Out went Craig Beavis and Lewis Parker with Jason Side taking a spot on the bench.

Both sides went into the game on a rotten run of form. Oldland had picked up one win in their last eleven games with ten losses while the Wiltshire hosts had just a win and a draw from the same period and had leaked 34 goals in their last eleven games.

Surprisingly, the reverse game at Castle Road had ended goalless but tonight's match was never likely to be the same and so irt proved on six minutes when Mark Robinson drove home for Chippenham. David Stone was involved in most of Oldland's attacking play and he went close on sixteen minutes before setting up McCallum for a shot that squirted wide.

Stone then assisted for the Oldland equaliser on the twenty minute mark. A Park defender, stretching to clear, could only lay the ball into the path of Stone who took the ball on, drew the keeper and played it to Tom Morgan to tap in. Tom Welling was then inches away with a cross-cum-shot that grazed the far post and Jordan Coulter went close for Park with a volley that wouldn't drop quickly enough and sailed over.

On 34 minutes, Chippenham took the lead for the second time when ref Darren MacMillan played advantage after an Oldland foul and Darin Moss hit a splendid dipping shot that Dempsey couldn't keep out. Just as the half time break approached, Oldland grabbed an important second equaliser through McCallum whose shot from twenty yards hopped up over keeper Jamie Norman and into the corner of the net.

The goal came at just the right time to give the visiting O's a boost confidence-wise and deflate the young Park team and Oldland came out a different team. Morgan put his side into the lead with the goal of the game halfway through the second half with a spectacular shot that flew into the net, leaving Norman helpless. Vinall then tested Norman on 76 minutes with a low shot but it was soon 4-2 when his youth team pal McCallum showed a cool head, following up his own saved shot with a header over Norman and into an empty net.

Stone was unlucky not to find himself on the scoresheet when his goal was disallowed for offside then late on, with four minutes remaining, Vinall scored the goal his performance deserved to cap a great night for the travelling O's.

No game this Saturday and the following weekend, Oldland make the trip to Kingswood in the GFA Trophy.
