David Stone's double after he had been pushed up front cancelled out goals from Shakiel Green and Aaron Seviour but in a dramatic late twist, Malick Jammeh scored the winner right on time to condemn Oldland to another late defeat.
Welton came into the game on a four match run that included three wins and a draw almost took the lead on twenty minutes. A defensive mix up saw Seviour given the ball on a plate but when he squared to Green, he couldn't find a finish despite a gaping wide goal.
Jammeh then went close on 35 minutes with a shot that hit the side netting but Welton weren't to be denied and took the lead two minutes later. Seviour set up Charlie Babb and his shot was superbly saved by Beavis but Green was on hand to open the scoring.
The goal inspired Welton to go looking for a second and both Jammeh and Seviour went close, the latter seeing his shot well saved by Beavis. The defence couldn't hold out till half time under the pressure though and after Tom Smith took a quick free kick, Jammeh set up Seviour for number two.
Welton couldn't keep up the tempo after the break and the drop in pace allowed Oldland to gain a foothold in the battle. David Stone pulled a goal back with 73 minutes on the clock after an error in the Welton defence. O's piled on the pressure looking for a leveller and it eventually came with just two minutes remaining. It was Stone again, thumping home after a penalty box scramble.
But just as it seemed Oldland would pick up a decent point, that man Jammeh had other ideas. Two minutes into stoppage time, Green's fine work on the right was followed by a cross that was slammed home by Jammeh for his ninth goal in nine games!
Cruel on Oldland who had battled well after the break but another loss, the eighth in a row, has left the O's in the bottom five places now.
