RED AND BLACKS GIVE OLDLAND THE BLUES
Oldland Abbots were hit by a goal either side of half time as they lost by two goals to nil at Warminster Town.
Four changes for the O's as they attempted to stop a losing sequence of six successive league games. Josh Dempsey was absent in goal so Craig Beavis deputised; at the back, Ashley Bernard came in for Jordan Richards while Lewis Parker and new signing Wayne Pearce started in place of Jason Side and Lewis Parker, both who dropped to the bench.
The first half was even steven with Bernard chancing his arm from long range which had the Warminster keeper scrambling to save. Right on the interval, the home side took the lead when Josh Ferguson took advantage of some calamitous defending to slot home into an empty net.
Eight minutes after the break it was 2-0 when the hosts were awarded a penalty for a harsh handball. Sam Clift stepped up and scored into the bottom right of the goal to double the Wiltshiremen's lead.
That was it in terms of goals and late on, Warminster went down to ten men after Paul Farrell earned a second yellow card, and subsequent red.
This weekend, Oldland are on the road again for the third game running as they make the trip to ever-improving Welton Rovers.
