Oldland's unbeaten home league record continued with a 2-1 win over visiting Wincanton Town today.

A Jordan Greenwood header and a screamer from Tyrone Fudgell had given the O's a two goal lead but the Somerset side came right back into it in the second half but in the end, had only a Matt Morley effort to show for their work. The result lifts the O's four places to seventh in the table just three points off the top with a game in hand.

Following Wednesday night's disappointing defeat at Almondsbury, Oldland made three changes with David Stone, Gary Shorney and Lewis Parker dropping to the bench and Tom Welling, Matt Curnock and Tom Morgan coming in.

The game's first chance went to visiting right back Danny Golden but he couldn't hook the ball back into play and ended up hitting the side netting. On nine minutes, the opening goal did arrive. Scott Robson swung in a right footed free kick and Jordan Greenwood met it perfectly with a bullet header to make it 1-0.

Tom Morris for Wincanton was denied by the feet of Josh Dempsey but the majority of the chances were still at the other end. Keeper Dan Cabell did well to smother a Luke Bryan near post effort but he was utterly helpless on the half hour mark with a stunning goal. Robson won the ball in the centre of the park and squared to Tyrone Fudgell who hit the mother of all volleys past Cabell and into the corner.

Tom Morgan and then Fudgell again both went close before Cabell saved from Morgan's header. Wincanton's best chance fell to left back Kieran Davis who hit a left foot scorcher narrowly wide. Cabell, the busier of the two keepers, pushed away a Robson curler then watched as Bryan fired way over right on half time.

After the break, George Rigby shot well wide and Cabell was again in action as he produced a flying save to thwart Ashley Bernard. Ryan Dunn moved forward from right back and hit a long range effort wide & Cabell saved from Ali Bamford. The clearest chance fell to Rigby who missed a golden chance to pull a goal back but his opportunity went over the crossbar.

The respite for Oldland was brief though as Wincanton scored with fifteen minutes remaining. Matt Morley, on as a sub, ran half the length of the pitch down the left and rifled home from a tight angle, in off the post.

Chances were at a premium late on with Wincanton having a sight of goal on 86 minutes as Iwan Walters lobbed Dempsey but couldn't keep his shot on target.
