Oldland's unbeaten record continued but they had to settle for a point against free scoring Chippenham Park.

After three successive 1-0 wins, Oldland made two changes to the back five for this first home midweek game of the season. Scott Thomas came in for his debut and Ryan Dunn took over at right back as both Tom Welling and Ashley Bernard were unavailable. There was also a debut for striker Luke Bryan who joined on the morning of the match with Tom Morgan still injured.

Chippenham started quickly and Josh Dempsey produced the save of the match in the opening few minutes, the shot destined for the top corner before the keeper saved. The Chippenham keeper also came up with a superb save later on in the half as the defences had the upper hand before the break.

Early on in the second half, the O's made two changes in midfield with Scott Robson and David Stone replacing Matt Curnock and Sam Abraham. Robson had the next chance but his attempt lacked power and the keeper saved. Bryan and Lewis Parker both fired over before Oldland thought they had the lead on 78 minutes. A free kick was floated in by Parker and Jordan Greenwood finished from close range but was harshly adjudged offside by the assistant referee.

As the rain came down in the final ten minutes, both sides had opportunities to snatch a win with Chippenham's sub blasting over after a counter attack. Robson flicked a header from a free kick straight at the keeper and in stoppage time, after Bryan had been cynically hacked down, Ryan Dunn rifled the free kick over the top.

A fourth successive clean sheet for the Oldland defence then, against a side that had scored 4, 3 and 5 in their last three games. A good defensive display from Dale Dempsey's men sees the O's move up to second place in the table but take a break from league action on Saturday as they host Brislington in the Preliminary Round of the FA Cup, 3pm kickoff at Castle Road.
