The O's had gone out of the Vase last season to their Wessex League opponents but there was to be no repeat this year as the O's set up an away trip to Horndean in the next round.
Scott Robson was suspended and Matt Curnock took a place on the bench, meaning there were recalls for striker Tom Morgan and midfielder Lewis Parker as the O's made two changes to the starting eleven that lost 1-0 to Keynsham in midweek.
Last season's game had seen Lymington keeper Stuart Williamson save three penalties as his side sneaked a 1-0 win in the 2nd Qualifying Round, having scored a penalty themselves in extra time. So it was almost inevitable there would be a spot kick on the menu today and there was!. Jordan Greenwood was hauled down in the box and ref James Jarad pointed to the spot. Williamson was missing between the sticks this year but his replacement, Nick Jones, saved David Stone's initial effort, but couldn't keep out the follow up.
Stone then turned provider ninety seconds later when his turn and ball through set up Luke Bryan for a cool finish and Oldland really turned the screw on 32 minutes when Gary Shorney netted a third goal inside eleven minutes.
After the break, Lymington came into the match a little more and missed a golden chance to pull a goal back from close range. But man-of-the-match Stone was determined to have the last word and after Ashley Bernard had fed Stone on the right, his ball in found Bryan for his fourth goal of the season, and Oldland's fourth of the afternoon.
The O's will now travel to Horndean, another Wessex Premier League club, on Saturday 24th September, kick off at 3pm in
