Tom Morgan's 14th goal of the season was only enough to earn a point at Wellington this afternoon.

Oldland's top scorer netted on twelve minutes before the hosts equalised early in the second half through a long range effort from Ollie Nott. Home skipper Sam Bryant was dismissed with half an hour left for his second bookable offence but despite plenty of pressure, the yellows had to be satisfied with a point. The draw sees Wednesday night's opponents Wells City leapfrog them into seventh spot as the season enters its final two months.

After Tuesday night's impressive 2-1 win at improving Wincanton Town, manager Dale Dempsey had to make four more changes to his starting eleven, three of them in the defence. Keeper Ashley Bryan returned after illness to replace Ross Jones & there was a new centre back pairing in Matt Curnock and Ashley Bernard who came in for Jordan Richards and Jack Boughton. Tom Morgan came off the bench to replace Jack Parker who was unavailable.

Kicking up the slope in the first half, Oldland took the lead on twelve minutes but they could have been a goal up already. In the second minute, Karim Rendall's shot was spilled by keeper Mitch Woodgate but Paul Coles' followup was cleared off the line before Rendall then shot wide. The goal came when Morgan's first shot was parried by Woodgate but the striker made no mistake second time around, curling a shot past the stranded keeper.

Ash Bryan blocked a deflected shot from Scott Drayton as Wellie pushed to equalise and at the other end, Oldland thought they should have had a penalty when David Stone was felled as he shot on goal but ref Damian Pelka waved away their appeals. O's then finished the first half in the ascendancy with Morgan twice going close from Scott Robson's corners.

The visitors had a nightmare start to the second period when a long range hopeful ball from Ollie Nott flew into the far corner of the net on 47 minutes. But the home side, boosted by seven wins and a draw in their last ten games, suffered a big blow on the hour with the loss of Sam Bryant. The captain, one of four brothers in the starting XI, was booked twice in four minutes for fouls on Morgan then Rendall, the second coming with half an hour remaining.

Rendall and Morgan then had strikes on goal before Stone missed two late chances to add to his dozen goals this campaign, firing over on 89 minutes. The game's final opportunity fell to home sub Sam Jones whose shot was bravely blocked by Bernard deep into stoppage time.
