Oldland let slip a two goal lead in the final fifteen minutes to lose 3-2 at a chilly Corsham this afternoon.

Karim Rendall's first half goal was added to by a superb David Stone second after the break but in the final fifteen minutes, a double from Luke Cousins and one from Matt Jenkins gave the Wiltshire hosts a win that had looked unlikely at one stage.

Oldland went into the match minus the suspended Jordan Greenwood and the unavailable Jordan Richards, meaning there was an unfamiliar centre back duo of Jack Boughton and Ashley Bernard. There was a debut in goal for O's new signing, Ashley Bryan, who came face-to-face with his brother Luke, leading the line for Corsham.

As befits two teams separated by just two points and one place, the early exchanges were tight. Corsham were lining up for their eighth game of 2016 whereas the O's hadn't tasted action for four weeks. Early on, Oldland had a narrow escape when a snap shot glanced off the post but almost straight after, Ali Bernard roamed forward to collect a pass from Bernard but he fired over from a tight angle.

Kalum Youngsam wasted a golden opportunity to open the scoring but his lob was way off target. Ashley Bryan then saved from Jenkins as Corsham pressed again for the opener. O's came back with a couple of efforts themselves, Karim Rendall's deflected free kick proving no bother for home keeper Chris Manns and Jack Parker's effort blocked by a defender.

Oldland took the lead on 26 minutes when a ball through the heart of the Corsham defence found Rendall who finished calmly for his second goal in three games. It settled the game down a bit and it was another quarter of an hour before anyone came close, Youngsam shooting well wide before Luke Bryan's shot was blocked and Jake Gardner's flicked header was off target.

Oldland extended their lead on 51 minutes with the goal of the game. A superb ball out wide found David Stone and he took on and beat the defender before pulling the ball back to fire home from just inside the box.

Rendall then crossed in from the left but no one was there for a simple tap-in and the striker was cursing his luck again on 66 minutes when he scored from close range but it was ruled out for offside. A third goal would have sealed the points with Corsham's Luke Cousins showing his frustration with a petulant kick out at Scott Robson for the game's first yellow card.

Kieron Gleed came close with a shot that was blocked by Bernard for a corner and from the flag kick, Cousins had time to pick his spot and pull a goal back. With fifteen minutes left, Corsham's tails were up and after Bryan had saved from his brother, they equalised with a minute left through a Matt Jenkins header at the far post.

As the time ticked into a third minute of stoppage time, Cousins was again left unmarked at a corner and headed home to give his side the most unlikely of victories.
