A hat trick from Karim Rendall and further goals from Josh Williams, Tom Morgan and David Stone sealed the victory which left the O's in eight place but improved their goal difference dramatically and sets up them up nicely for the final run in.
Oldland boss Dale Dempsey's team had taken four points from their last two away games so returned home for the first time in twelve weeks in good heart. Jordan Greenwood was available again after suspension and came in for Matt Curnock while Josh Williams replaced Paul Coles in the starting eleven.
The home side made a blistering start and after missing a couple of early chances, took the lead on four minutes. Scott Robson played a superb reverse pass through to Tom Morgan; his shot then deflected to Karim Rendall who headed home. O's were dominant in that first period but it took till the half hour mark for them to add a second when Josh Williams fired home from the angle.
Devizes pulled a goal back when a pass from defence cut through the Oldland defence and Ali Bradley scored and at 2-1, it was very much game on. Oldland then hit the woodwork too before five minutes after the break, top scorer Tom Morgan scored from the acutest of angles for his 15th goal of the season after a great set-up from Robson again.
Within a matter of minutes, Rendall grabbed his second following some dithering in the Devizes defence to make it 4-1 and the visitors bad day got worse when Matt Russell was dismissed for a two footed challenge although to his credit an apology and a handshake was immediately forthcoming.
On 77 minutes, skipper David Stone got in on the scoring spree with a fine solo goal before Rendall completed the scoring in the 84th minute with a sidefoot finish from the edge of the box.
Ashley Bryan produced a great save near the end to keep the score at 6-1 but his counterpart, Matt Lilley in the Devizes goal, ran Rendall close for the Man of the Match award making six outstanding saves during the game and keeping his side in it for as long as possible.
