Oldland Abbotonians made it five wins in a row with a 3-2 win over Westbury United at Castle Road.

Oldland came from a goal down to win through a David Stone double and a Jordan Greenwood header before United claimed a late consolation. The victory, on a pudding of a pitch, lifts the O's up to second place in the table level on points with league leaders Chipping Sodbury but with an inferior goal diference. The Sodbury side have played three games more though and it promises to be a Christmas cracker when the two sides meet on Boxing Day.

The visitors took the lead on thirty minutes from a corner but Oldland levelled five minutes before half time when Jordan Greenwood powered home a header for his second goal of the campaign.

At half time, Oldland had to change their striped kit as it clashed under the lights with the Westbury strip and on 48 minutes, Lewis Parker came off and was replaced by Josh Williams. The sub almost had an instant impact, scoring from close range but seeing his goal ruled out for an offside that looked a little harsh.

With eighteen minutes to go, Williams played the ball into David Stone who was upended in the box. The striker dusted himself off to once again score from a spot kick for the fourth successive game.

Matt Curnock scooped a shot onto the roof of the net shortly after before Stone grabbed a superb second, and Oldland's third, on eighty minutes. Ryan Dunn played a ball into the right channel and Stone ran on into the box before finishing smartly at the near post.

At 3-1, Oldland needed one more goal to go top of the table but instead, it was Westbury who scored next with a spectacular effort from the right flank that flew into the net. It was only a consolation though and at the final whistle, Oldland had secured three more precious points with a win. It was also the tenth time this season that Dale Dempsey's side had scored three goals in a match.
