The hosts would have gone top of the table with all three points and had the advantage in the first half of both a howling wind and the slope. But the O's were the more impressive side in the first period with Paul Coles firing a shot across Jason Hutchings in the home goal . Tom Morgan then saw the keeper tip his shot onto the crossbar as Oldland maintained the pressure.
On thirty two minutes, Paul Coles opened the scoring. O's keeper Josh Dempsey had saved well from Ed Butcher a minute before and straight after, Coles showed strength to get into the area and finish smartly.
The second half began with Chard kicking up the slope and into the wind but they conceded a second goal ten minutes in when a misunderstanding between Hutchings and his defence allowed Tom Morgan to speed through, round the keeper and slot home his eleventh goal of the season.
Chard forced a couple of chances but they were sporadic ones and the hosts found themselves penned in and on the end of one of Oldland's best performances of the season. Nathan Bell, impressing in midfield, tested Hutchings with a shot from the outside of the box, the keeper saving well.
Coles again went close with a lob but with two minutes to go, Oldland wrapped up the victory with the goal of the game. Sub Josh Williams seized onto a loose pass, advanced forward and curled a beauty into the corner of the net for his fourth goal in nine games.
