Yate Town came to Castle Road with two former O's in their starting line up, Mike Connor and Mike Alvis.

The first twenty minutes were quiet but on 21 minutes, the deadlock was broken. The ball was cleared from an Oldland corner to Danny Carter and his chip back into the box was met by Josh Williams who lobbed the keeper. Carter was close to scoring himself twice soon after; once from a dangerous cross shot that deflected for a corner and then with a thirty yarder that the keeper bundled for a corner.

From the flag kick, came goal number two. Carter's back post delivery was met by Jordan Greenwood who nodded back into the six yard box where 17-year-old Dylan Evans netted from close range.

At half time, home manager Dale Dempsey made five changes and three of them would get on the score sheet before the match ended. Ryan Ashwood and Tom Morgan went close before a devastating four goals in six minutes burst blitzed the visitors.

On 66 minutes, O's went three up when a ball over the top found Tom Morgan who rounded the keeper to score and within two minutes, an Ali Bamford right wing cross was superbly headed home by Tom Morgan. On seventy minutes, Morgan turned creator as he set Sam Abraham away to finish neatly and the sixth came two minutes later, the pick of the match. This time, it was Connor Davies rifling home from a narrow angle.

Late on, there were further chances for Ashwood (twice) and Morgan but no further goals. The victory meant that Oldland maintained their unbeaten record in pre-season with four wins and a draw from their five games.
