Although the scoreline looked comfortable, it was a frustrating first half hour for the O's in their penultimate pre-season friendly. Chances were few and far between with Tom Morgan's shot lacking power, Tom Welling's follow up going over and Connor Davies' header not really troubling the Mangotsfield keeper.
All that changed with a double strike on 35 and 36 minutes. The first goal came after some good combination work from Matt Curnock and Danny Carter set up Tom Morgan to fire home on the angle. Within ninety seconds, it was 2-0. Ryan Dunn pressured the defender into passing back to the Mangoes keeper who miskicked his clearance and Tom Morgan snaffled his second of the night.
Josh Dempsey was called into action straight after with a flying save but before half time, O's could have added two more as Morgan's flick header went wide, Carter's shot was smothered by the sub keeper who then produced a blinding one handed save to deny Dunn's follow up.
Oldland converted their first real chance of the second half. After Gary Shorney and Jordan Greenwood had half chances, Connor Davies curled home a beauty after playing a one two with Josh Williams and taking on the keeper.
Shorney (over the bar with a shot) and Tom Welling (narrowly over the angle with a header) went close and Paul Coles, making his first appearance of pre-season pulled a shot wide with seven minutes to go.
