A great start to our first game under the lights at home with a 1-0 win against a well drilled Radstock side, strong performances from back to front with some great physical battles all over the pitch.
The 1st half was nip and tuck with a the best chance of the half coming from a great free kick from Luca Cozens whipped in for Danny Miles head back across goal and Jude Hussey narrowly putting over the bar.
The 2nd half kicked off with the same intensity as the first Oldland started to gain more authority on the game and created more opportunities on goal with Jude Hussey and Vinnie Griffin going close before on 70 mins Vinnie Griffin getting the breakthrough with a clinical strike to give Oldland the goal they deserved. From then on The Os managed the game in the correct manner to finish the game with a well earned 1-0 win.
Unfortunately the lads picked up a couple of injuries - at the end of the first half George Bishop (fingers crossed it won’t be as bad as first thought) and at the start of the second half one of our younger players Samuel Benton 10mins into his debut had to come off after taking a knock to his ankle.
Finally, a mention to the younger lads that held their own, to Captain Alfie Clarke controlling our back line, Luca Cozens & Harvey Cogzell with composed play in our midfield also getting up to assist our forwards.
On the whole, all the lads should be happy with theirs performances and we are now looking forward to our 1st league game away to Bristol Telephones on the 12 September.
