Os reserves face Wick Reserves away tomorrow at Oldbury Lane 2.30 in a crunch final match of the season.
Manager Steve Cains will probably walk to the game from his neighbouring estate which sits on the edge of Wick's ground and he will with joint manager Craig Durnell look to rally the troops for one last push.
Oldland need one point form the game to ensure they sit outside of the bottom two and potential relegation to the Bristol & District League with the points from a recently postponed game against Shirehampton Reserves still to be decided. Cains said "It has been a long old season and we have used numerous players due to injury and unavailability. What we have now is a very young group who can be the future of the club alongside old mates who are playing and helping to develop them. I can't fault the effort of the core group and also want to thank the likes of Mark Cook, Simon Warren and Jon Mayo for being alongside us. We will look to develop this group even further next year and also try to bring in ore of the Under 18s and a couple more lads with experience - Big Bern I'm coming for you!"
It will be a summer of change in the lower ranks at Oldland with 3rd team boss Jamie White standing down after four years. Cains, who is also joint chairman with Clayton Woodman explained "We have a plan and just need to put the final pieces in place. The aim is for a link and joined up management of the 2nds, 3rds and Under 18s training together and working as one unit which can move up and down with common coaching staff and aims. It's going to be an exciting year ahead."
