Lashenko takes the reins

Oldland Abbotonians Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Lee Lashenko as the club’s new First Team Manager.

Lee joins Oldland Abbotonians following an outstanding managerial career, most notably a highly successful 12-year spell as First Team Manager at Bristol Manor Farm. During his time at The Farm, Lee achieved significant success and set numerous club records, firmly establishing himself as one of the most respected managers at this level of the game.

Under Lee’s leadership, Bristol Manor Farm won the Toolstation League Cup in 2014, secured the Toolstation Western Football League Premier Division title in the 2016/17 season, and lifted the Gloucestershire FA Challenge Cup on two occasions. That memorable 2016/17 campaign also saw Lee guide the club to its first-ever promotion to Step 4, a landmark achievement in their history.

Lee also led the side to the FA Vase Quarter-finals in the 2015/16 season, underlining the club’s ability to compete successfully on the national stage.

Beyond on-field achievements, Lee played a vital role in ensuring long-term club stability, strengthening community links, and developing strategic partnerships with local businesses — highlighting his commitment to sustainable club development both on and off the pitch.

Earlier in his managerial career, Lee guided Bishop Sutton to the Premier Division Championship in the 2012/13 season, further demonstrating his proven ability, professionalism, dedication, and attention to detail as a manager.

The club would also like to take this opportunity to place on record its sincere appreciation to current First Team Manager Kris Miller and Assistant Manager Aaron Cornwall for their commitment and hard work over the past 16 months. Kris and Arron successfully guided the team to a 10th-place finish in the Western Premier League last season, following what had been a challenging transition from League One. Both have confirmed their desire to remain at the club in a playing and coaching capacity, and the committee is confident they will continue to play an important role in the club’s future.

With the appointment of Lee, the Committee believes that his experience, leadership, and vision align perfectly with the ambitions of Oldland Abbotonians Football Club, and we look forward to an exciting new chapter under his management.

We extend a warm welcome to Lee and wish him every success in his new role.
