Oldland 3 Bishops Cleeve 0
Oldland finish strongly
Despite ringing the changes with substitutes in the second half, Oldland finished strongly and won this pre season friendly finishing the stronger team
There were two changes to Satruday's starting eleven with Josh Southway and Courtney Charles coming into the starting eleven.
After close early exchanges and some good football from both sides, Oldland took the lead on 23 minutes when Southway was fouled inside the box and whilst everyone awaited a decision, it was the linesman who eventually notified the referee of the spot kick. Joe Walters put it firmly into the bottom of the net. Walters came close again shortly afterwards when a fine move and low cross shot across the box from Sengor fell to him four yeards out but he shot straight at the keeper.
Oldland scored a second on 55 minutes following further good work from Sengor, who found Southway wide right and his low drive across the six yard box was turned into his own net by a Bishops Cleeve defender.
Then followed a number of substitutions with 16 year old Luke Wilson again impressing in goal in his short spell and as the game went on Oldland became more impressive having most of the last quarter. Garfield White looked especially strong with plenty of direct movement inside and outside the box and a couple of fierce shots and numerous crosses from Josh Williams and Adam Young causing difficulties for the Bishops Cleeve defenders. It was from a Williams cross that Olly Trevarthen headed home Oldland's third on 80 minutes to seal the win.
Another good run out and an impressive performance especially from midfield driving the side forward, Walters with some strong tackling and Williams impressing after coming on as sub too.
