Great 1st half, shame about the 2nd
With the just 11 players available, the Blues knew they had a tough game on their hands with Hanham flying high in the league.
After conceding early on, Josh Grey
scored with a powerful well placed shot after great pressure on Hanham’s defence by Josh Toy
After conceding a second, great work from Jack Moore
enabled Josh Grey
to set up Oli Box
to score an equaliser, his 3rd goal in three games.
had a great opportunity to put the Blues in front when his shot from the left beat Hanham‘s keeper but was kept out by a great goal line clearance.
In all, with no subs, the blues played well in the 1st half with Jake Wichard
making some great saves and Matthew Sowerby, Harry Joyner
and Stefan Mills
keeping Hanhams attack at bay.
After conceding two more early in the 2nd half, a great cross from Jack Moore
set up Oli Box
to score his second goal of the game with a delightful touch to scoop the ball over Hanhams keeper.
With Hanham able to make substitutions, the Blues began to tire with a boggy, muddy pitch taking its toll on their legs.
With Ben Darke
having to leave the field injured and leaving the Blues with only 10 men, Hanham managed to score five more to inflict more damage to the score line.
MOM today was awarded to Jake Wichard
. Jake made some unbelievable saves and really proved just how good he is as a goalkeeper.
