Res and Colts start this weekend

Reserves

The Reserves have reformed and regrouped after last year’s management team stepped down, three players went with them and another couple elsewhere but Manager Wes Frith has recruited well and it’s great to see a number of our Under 18s as well as the likes of Ricky Godwin, Brett Richards, Danny Sage, Rhys Hodge and the like all involved too. Wes and the boys start their season against Roman Glass Reserves today. In their friendly matches they have managed the following:

• 8 August Lost 3-6 v Longwell Green Res
• 16 August Lost v Shaftesbury Crusade
• 18 August Won 5-3 v Soundwell Victoria Dave England (2) Ricky Godwin, Brett Richards and Winstone Donaldson
• 22 August Won 12-0 v Midland Spinner Cain Henderson (3) Jayden Rand (3) Brett Richards (2) Sam Hutton Dave England and Kaylen Edwards
• 25 August Lost 0-1 v St Aldhems FC
• 28 August Lost 1-5 v Made For Ever

Good luck for the season lads

Colts

The newly formed thirds have played numerous games over the past month or so which means they are (fit) and raring to go. Sam and Tom have done a great job bringing around twenty new faces to the club and as the season progresses they will find their feet in the right level be it first, second or third team keeping our reputation as a club that gives new faces a chances. It’s also good to see the boys in the bar after their matches as they don’t play at Castle Road, we look forward to a great season and bright future.

• 13 July Lost 1-3 v Nicholas Wanderers 3rds
• 19 July Lost 3-5 v De Veys FC
• 21 July Lost 0-1 v Park Knowle
• 29 July Won 2-1 v Socius United - goals from Jack Knowlson, Fabian pf
• 11 August Won 4-2 – goals from Harvey Cartwright, Toby Sawyer, Alex Robertson and Alex Bennett-Ford (posh, he’s not local)
• 18 August Lost 1-2 v Mendip Broadwalk 3rds – goal from 48 year old Colin Towler (yes mate!)
• 22 August v Oldland U18s (trial match)

They started their Bristol & District League Division Five season last night with a home game here at Castle Road against another new team Frys C. Which means some of them may well still be here in the bar…..

Good luck for the season lads

18s

Our Under 18s suffered as a number of last year’s squad opted to move on. All credit to manager Tony Podluzney however as he has put together a squad from the remainder, this year’s new boys and some additional signings.

We are still looking for 16-18 year olds to join the ranks for the 2018/19 season in the Somerset Floodlit Youth League with the further chance to play for one of the club’s three adult make sides on Saturdays. Please contact @AnthonyPodluzny via twitter or speak to any club member if interested.

Good luck for the season lads
