Oldland complete Dual Registration loan signing of Marcus Price

Oldland have completed the Dual Registration loan signing of promising young goalkeeper Marcus Price

Marcus joins the club on a short-term basis to cover First team regular Chris Manns who is currently unavailable. With no other senior goalkeepers available for selection for tomorrow's game at home to Bishop Sutton it left Manager Scott Armstrong with a small dilemma, with the only available keeper being the Under 18's Luke Wilson or himself.

Armstrong commented "Luke has a great future ahead of him and has been training with the first team squad, we also featured him in a couple of our pre season friendlies. I just feel that Saturday's high pressure local derby might be best handled by a more experienced number one and have discussed this with Luke. he does though feature very strongly in our future plans for the club."

The highly recommended Price has youth international experience having played for England Independent Schools and England Schools. He is also a former Millfield School pupil and featured regularly in their first XI during his time at the school. Marcus is also a former member of the International Soccer Academy which is well known for producing players for academy sides in the football league, as well as having had a brief spell at Bournemouth FC in his early days. He is set for his debut tomorrow against Bishop Sutton FC subject to the completed paperwork being processed in time.

In relation to the signing, Manager Scott Armstrong added "I'd like to thank both Billy Clarke at Bath City and Che Wilson at Bath University for allowing us to take Marcus on this short-term deal. They have been a great help and support to us in helping to get this completed. Marcus comes to the club with a good footballing pedigree for such a young age and was recommend by two coaches with great experience in the game. I would also like to wish Marcus a warm welcome and hope he enjoys his time with the club."

Welcome aboard Marcus!
